The earliest returns for the primary election were mostly statewide results. The results for Hamilton County were not released by presstime. In the United States Senate race, Ashley Hinson, who was running against Jim Carlin for the Republican party was leading by 75% and was predicted the winner. Josh Turek was declared the winner against Zach Wahls. Hinson and Turek will face each other in the fall. The Republican race for governor was mixed at press time, with U.S. Rep.
