South Hamilton runs at HIC meet

NEVADA — The South Hamilton cross country teams competed here Monday at the Heart of Iowa Conference meet.

The race was held at Hickory Grove Park, as Monroe-PCM won girls team gold and Nevada claimed the boys title.

For the Hawks, they were sixth overall in the girls standings behind Cici Herrick, as the sophomore finished 18th.

Herrick had a time of 22:13, with West Marshall freshman Dalaney Eldridge capturing gold in 19:53.

Olivia Beaune was 28th in 23:00, Brooklyn Doolittle placed 33rd in 23:19, Bianca Seaton was 45th in 24:33, Isabel Swenson finished 54th in 25:54, Kayley Zanker was 70th in 28:05 and Laurel Johnson placed 72nd in 28:33.

The Hawk boys were eighth overall with Hayden Hill placing 20th in 18:56. Roland-Story’s Corben Lucchesi was the winner in 17:08.

Laken Zanker finished 37th in 19:44, Carson Gibbs was 56th in 20:39, Thomas Wirth placed 66th in 21:49, Emmett Beach was 76th in 22:47, Trevor Zanker finished 86th in 23:28 and Caden Christensen was 94th in 24:45.
