Lynx finally on the links
CLARION — The Webster City girls golf team finally got on the links for North Central Conference action, defeating both Clarion-Goldfield/Dows and Hampton-Dumont/CAL here Friday.
The Lynx had a score of 217 led by a 53 from Mylie Keller, which earned the junior runner-up medalist honors. Claire Kirstein of Clarion-Goldfield/Dows was medalist, claiming the tiebreaker over Keller.
“It was just great to get a meet in,” WCHS head coach Jeff Lyons said. “The weather has kept us off the course, but the girls came out and played well.”
Alleyna Dawson and Carli Jessen both added 54s for Webster City, as Kenley Koop had a 56. Ellie Peterson finished with a 59 and Hayden McCoy had a 65.
