DES MOINES — Kali Hartnett, Tessa Hansen, Isabel Weinschenk and Isabel Grossoehme got the chance to experience the Drake Relays here this past Saturday.

The Webster City quartet competed in the first round of the 4×100-meter relay from inside Drake Stadium, finishing in a time of 51.63. That was good enough for 83rd overall and fifth in the second heat.

Hartnett, Hansen, Weinschenk and Grossoehme came into the meet seeded 93rd overall, moving up 10 spots, while also taking time off their qualifying effort of 51.77.

Two former South Hamilton standouts were also in action during college events at the Drake Relays, as Ty Koehnk of Iowa State was fourth in the 400 in 47.13, winning the second heat. He also ran on the fifth place 4×100 relay, which went 41.30.

Austin Busch, competing for Iowa, was seventh in the men’s hammer throw with a best of 204-4.
