Top-10 for Hawk Hill at West Marshall

STATE CENTER — The South Hamilton cross country teams were in action here Tuesday at the West Marshall Invitational.

The Hawks placed sixth in both team races. Ankeny Christian Academy won the boys title and West Marshall the girls crown.

Hayden Hill secured a Top-10 finish for South Hamilton, placing eighth in 17:22. Teammate Jesus Garcia was 11th in 17:37.

Trevor Zanker was 44th overall, Kaden Greenlee finished 47th, Evan Gibson was 52nd, Sterling Dietzel placed 53rd and Caden Christensen took 61st.

“Hayden ran a personal best, as did Jesus,” South Hamilton boys head coach Robyn Reisetter said. “Trevor Zanker, our No. 3 runner, also had a personal best, as did Sterling Dietzel.”

Olivia Beaune paced the girls, as she was 20th overall in 23:24. Cici Herrick was right behind in 23rd with a time of 23:59.

Bianca Seaton finished 37th, Isabel Swenson was 43rd, Rosemary Chamness finished 46th, Kayley Zanker was 49th, Laurel Johnston finished 56th and Vivian Swenson was 60th.

“Cici and Isabel both had season-best times,” South Hamilton girls head coach Emily Bochmann said. “Olivia continues to be a strong leader for the team, and Bianca had a great finish.”

Next action for the Hawks will be Thursday at the Roland-Story Invitational.
