South Hamilton volleyball players honored by HOIAC
JEWELL — A number of South Hamilton volleyball players were named to the all-Heart of Iowa Conference team, the league announced recently.
Tessa Skartvedt was a first team selection while Emma Lammers made the second. Claire Hewitt and Sara Scheller both picked up honorable-mention accolades.
Skartvedt made 33 starts on the court for the Hawks, recording 294 kills, 102 digs, 56 aces, 23 total blocks and six assists. She had 221 successful serves on the year.
Lammers had 335 digs, 46 assists and five kills in 33 matches.
Hewitt registered 320 assists, 219 digs, 70 kills, 36 aces and 21 blocks, and served at a 94 percent.
Scheller contributed 103 digs, 74 kills, 44 total blocks and 10 assists.
South Hamilton finished 19-14 overall and fifth in the conference, going 4-4. The 19 wins were the most for the program since 2018, when they were 24-8.
The Hawks will graduate Scheller, Hewitt, Abby Richardson, Lillie Ammerman, Daytona Ferrie and Fiona Rott, but are slated to return Skartvedt, Lammers and several other key contributors in 2026.
