Two champs for Webster City girls in Jefferson
JEFFERSON — The Webster City girls track and field team picked up two firsts, two seconds and a pair of thirds here Monday night at the Ram Relays.
Isabel Grossoehme captured the 800-meter run and ran the anchor on the winning sprint medley relay for the Lynx.
Grossoehme went 2:29.87 to win the 800 and paired up with Isabel Weinschenk, Tristyn Wright and Cloe Savitski to capture the sprint medley title in 1:54.59.
Savitski had a productive night individually, as she was the 100-meter dash runner-up in 13.27, placed third in the 200 in 27.56, and was fourth in the long jump (14-3).
Adysen Poppen had the other silver medal with a throw of 36-10 in the shot put. Teammate Amanda Lahr was right behind, taking third with a toss of 36-7.
Both Poppen and Lahr had personal records in the event.
Evie Davis placed sixth in the long jump for Webster City, who run at home on Thursday night.
The field for the Lynx Relays will include Algona, Clarion-Goldfield/Dows, Eagle Grove, Mason City Newman and Perry.
