The Webster City cross country teams hosted on the Lynx Invitational on a perfect day for running Tuesday.
There were four races on the track with two varsity and two junior varsity races. There were two classes for each division.
On the girls side Roland-Story (gold division) was the team champion and St. Edmond was the runner up.
For the boys, Algona (gold) and St. Edmond finished first second.
In the girls purple side, Ballard and Gilbert were the top two, while Gilbert and Ballard swapped spots on the boys side.
Four girls ran for the Lynx, as sophomore Isabel Grossoehme turned in the top showing. Grossoehme crossed the line in the 17th position in a time of 22:28.20.
Senior Lydia VanDeer (27:01.60) was 38th. Junior Abby Peterson (28:23.20) was 43rd and senior Karina Murray (31:18.10) was 44th.
The Lynx boys placed 6th with 133 team points. Junior Justin Callahan (18:12.20 was the top Webster City runner in 11th place.
Junior Jack Barner (18:58.80) was 21st and classmate Gabe Thuma (19:45.50) was 27th.
Ivan Lopez (20:14.00) and sophomore Jackson Olmstead (20:52.40) round out the Lynx scoring in 33rd and 41st place.
Freshmen Kaleb Drager and Tariq Burton were 44th and 54th respectively.
