Herrick finishes 9th for Hawks

WEBSTER CITY — The South Hamilton girls turned in a strong performance at the Lynx Invitational on Tuesday.

The Hawks placed two runners and brought home a fourth place showing in the gold division.

Roland-Story (37) was the team champion, while St. Edmond (49) and Hampton-Dumont (104) placed ahead of South Hamilton and Algona who scored 107 team points. The Hawks won on tie-breaker.

Sophomore Cici Herrick finished ninth in 23:34.10, while junior Olivia Beaune (23:41.60) was 10th.

Junior Brooklyn Doolittle (25:25.60) was 27th and classmate Bianca Seaton (26:15.80) placed 30th. Junior Kayley Zanker (26:40.10) rounded out the scoring in 34th.

Junior Isabel Swenson (26:48.80) and senior McKenna Miller (26:49.70) placed 35th and 36th respectively.

On the boys side, the Hawks placed ninth in the gold division. Algona (49), St. Edmond (67) and Manson Northwest Webster (94) rounded out the top three.

Sophomore Hayden Hill (19:13.80) grabbed the top performance for the Hawks in 10th. Senior Laken Zanker (20:23.30) was 26th.

Also running for the Hawks were senior Carson Gibbs (53rd), freshman Trevor Zanker (54th), seniors Thomas Wirth (57th), Emmett Beach (58th) and freshman Caden Christensen (60th).
