From the mayor of Iowa Falls: “Our loss is your gain”

To the editor: I have been involved in the criminal justice field for over 25 years as a sworn peace officer, as well as teaching and administering a Criminal Justice program at the college level. I have met and worked with a great many law enforcement professionals in that time and Alex Pruismann is clearly one of the standouts. Alex understands that police work is not just about enforcing laws but that it is, at its root, a people business. Just about any law enforcement officer can write tickets and arrest people but not all of them approach the job with an understanding of ...

Vote for Alex Pruismann for sheriff on June 4

To the editor: I've known Alex (Pruismann) for several years through law enforcement, and before that we competed against each other in high school sports. He has always been a stand-up person, competitor and deputy, and has the professional skillset to keep growing the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office. Vote for Alex Pruismann on June 4th. Derek Christie Webster County Chief Deputy

She supports Alex Pruismann for Hamilton Co. sheriff

To the editor: As a pre-service teacher, I was fortunate enough to work with Alex (Pruismann) while student teaching at a public school district in Hamilton County. It was evident from my first interaction with Alex that he and I shared a similar priority — children in our schools. He built relationships and trust with the entire elementary student body through positive interactions, realistic expectations, and fun and engaging life lessons. It was so refreshing to see firsthand such a meaningful student-law enforcement relationship through his work with programs such as Books with ...

Thank you for Slumber Pawty Success!

To the editor: All of us at Hamilton County Animal AdvoCATes wish to express our deepest gratitude to this wonderful community that made our first annual Slumber Pawty fundraiser at The Cat Hut such a resounding success! Specifically, the funds raised cover almost four months of vet bills! It was truly inspiring to have so many people come together with a shared purpose: to help cats, caregivers, ...

He recommends Alex Pruismann for Hamilton Co. sheriff

To the editor: I have known Alex for almost a decade and want to recommend him for the position of sheriff of Hamilton County. What I see in Alex is probably what everyone sees. But for those of you who don’t know him, he is a stand up guy! The personality traits that I see in Alex and what would make him a great sheriff are: leadership, integrity, honesty, fairness, conscientiousness and a sense of humor. He has an even temperament that is essential and believes in a collaborative atmosphere. He will listen to others and take all things into consideration if warranted, but can ...

Alex Pruismann can step into the big role of sheriff

To the editor: It is vital that we vote for values in the next Sheriff of Hamilton County election to precede a sheriff who has large shoes to fill. I believe that Alex Pruismann, being a local Hamilton County resident for his whole life, would bring those needed values. I speak from a viewpoint as an educator. Deputy Pruismann has spent many a year coming into the schools and showing our younger generation that law enforcement is important and nothing to be afraid of. He spent several years going to each classroom on his own time to do Books and Badges. The children really engaged ...
