Ribbon cutting ceremony Friday marks completion of Reisner Substation

The celebration of the completion of the Reisner Substation will be held at noon on Friday with a ribbon cutting coordinated by the Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce. Van Diest Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship

The Van Diest Medical Center Auxiliary is offering six scholarships of $1,000 each to 2026 high school graduates wishing to pursue a career in health care. Individuals going back to further their education in the health care field will also be considered. The Teresa Treat Stearns Trust is offering scholarships for the 2026-2027 school year. The Teresa Treat Stearns Trust Scholarship is available to graduates of Webster City High School who are pursuing higher education at any accredited college, university, vocational school, or nursing program. WCHS spring break is next week

The Webster City Community Schools will be dismissing early on Thursday. Spring break will officially run from March 6 to March 13. School will resume on March 16.

Citizens Academy still has openings

The Hamilton County Peace Officers Association and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office are working together to provide a Citizens’ Academy to educate private citizens to the roles our law enforcement officers play in keeping citizens safe. This free program will be held on March 19 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the basement conference room at the Hamilton County Courthouse at 2300 Superior St. Applications are available at the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office located on the second floor of the courthouse.
