Current Frauds, Scams and How to Protect Yourself is the program topic for the October Seniors and Law Enforcement Together — SALT — meeting. The meeting will be held in the upstairs meeting room at First State Bank, 505 Second Street, Webster City, on Thursday, Oct. 3.

This meeting opens at 9 a.m. and begins at 9:30 a.m.

Refreshments will be served and Van Diest Medical Center personnel will provide free blood pressure checks.

The meeting will beginwith announcements from local law enforcement and officials from area agencies, and upcoming events from around Hamilton County.

Alyssa Schwering and Emily Stockdale, of First State Bank, will share real-life examples of scams and fraud and tips on how people can protect themselves from scammers.
