Mallory Maharry and Justin Kjar, both of Newton, have announced their engagement and plans for a June wedding.

Parents of the bride are Dr. Greg and Jennifer Maharry, Webster City. The groom’s parents are Karen and Randy Getzke, Lakeville, Minn., and Mike and Jill Kjar, Anthem, Ariz.

The bride-to-be graduated from Iowa State University in 2011 and is a K-5th grade special education teacher at Lynnville-Sully Elementary School.

Her fiance is a 2012 graduate of ISU and is working as a loan servicing specialist at Wells Fargo.

The couple will be married June 14 in Ames.
