Virtual Zoo at Wilson Brewer Tuesday

Wilson Brewer Park will be the site for a unique type of zoo on Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. The park is located at 220 Ohio St. in Webster City. Wild Adventures promotes this zoo as a “Smart Zoo Experience.” It features hyper-realistic and fully animatronic animals, including lions, tigers, elephants, pandas, monkeys, a cobra and dinosaurs. The cost is the cost of a cookie for $5 per person. A cookie purchase is required for each person attending.

WCMS has DARE graduation Tuesday

Fifth- and sixth-grade students at the Webster City Middle School will have their DARE graduation Tuesday morning at the middle school multi-purpose gym, 1101 Des Moines St. The program begins at 9 a.m. Around 250 students will be recognized during the morning program. There will also be five essay winners recognized, with one first-place winner in each of the two grades.

French Church hosts Ice Cream Social Memorial Day weekend

The French Church of Woolstock is hosting an Ice Cream Social from 10 to 2 p.m. on on May 23. The French Church is located three miles east of Woolstock on Hamilton County Road C70, near Keokuk Avenue. This special open house is a come and go event, helping families and friends of the French Church celebrate their heritage, and remember those who have gone before. The open house will help showcase some of the preservation efforts they have made with the church and cemetery. Donations to help continue their efforts will be accepted.

Kendall Young offers First Aid and CPR training Tuesday

Heather Rice will be offering First Aid and CPR Training at Kendall Young Library on Tuesday. This certification is a hybrid format and requires online coursework prior to training. (Heartsaver Total – First Aid CPR AED Online — $23). The in-person training session will cost $80 and will be held in the Kendall Young Library meeting room.
