Junquefest is this weekend

A full day of music, shopping, and community fun is planned as JunqueFest returns to downtown Webster City from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday during Memorial Day weekend. This year’s JunqueFest promises more than just treasures and treats — it’s shaping up to be a music-filled celebration. Parks and Recreation Commission meets Thursday

The Parks and Recreation Commission will meet at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday at Fuller Hall. On the agenda are the Fuller Hall budget, updates on the park project, recreation programs, Fuller Hall, outdoor pool and fee schedule. The next meeting will be June 18 at 5:15 p.m.

The Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce invites community members, business professionals, and local leaders to join us for the May Third Thursday Coffee this Thursday from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at Black Hills Energy, located at 225 Commerce Drive in Webster City. Guests will have the opportunity to tour the facility, meet the Black Hills Energy team, and hear updates from the Chamber and community partners while enjoying fresh coffee sponsored by Mornin’ Glory Coffee and light refreshments. Third Thursday Coffee events are open to the public.

Van Diest Trustees meet today at 6 p.m.

The Board of Trustees for Van Diest Medical Center will meet on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Clinic Board room, 2350 Hospital Drive in Webster City. Agenda items include board education, approval of the tax budget amendment for FY 2026, the FY 27 tax levy petition, pillar reports for hospital management, growth and community service excellence, and quality and continuous improvement in addition to the financial pillar. There will also be an update from medical staff and MercyOne.

Deadline for garage sales is noon today

The deadline to register for the Community-Wide Garage Sales is noon today. Residents across Webster City are invited to take part by hosting their own garage sale and registering to be included on the official community-wide list. Registration is free and open to all residents, and all submitted sales will be compiled and published on the Daily Freeman Journal website, making it easy for shoppers to plan their routes and explore sales throughout the entire community.
