Over the Speed Limit Players have auditions Sunday

Auditions for “Fiddler on the Roof” will be held Sunday and Tuesday. The auditions will be at 6 p.m. at the Webster City Community Theatre Performing Arts Center, located at 1001 Willson Ave. The Over the Speed Limit Players is a new theater group being organized as a branch of the Webster City Community Theatre for those over the age of 55.

Hamilton County Fair announces fundraiser

The Hamilton County Fair Expo will be holding its annual fundraising dinner on Jan. 31. This will be held in the Hamilton County Show Arena. The price for tickets are $200 for a table of six or $40 a ticket. Drinks included. Doors open at 5 p.m. Call the fair office at 515-832-1443.

Kendall Young Library hosts puzzle competition Saturday

The Kendall Young Library is hosting a speed competition for putting together adult jigsaw puzzles on Saturday. The library is located at 1201 Willson Ave. The event begins at 10:30 a.m., and should be completed by 1:30 p.m. Teams of four can register by calling the library at 515-832-9100. Teams are made up of four adults or teens over the age of 14. Registration is important as the space is limited. All teams will be able to keep their puzzle and the winning team will get a prize. Workshop next week on ‘The Benefits of Eating 30 Different Plants in a Week’

Registered Dietitian Kristi Zwiefel of Van Diest Medical Center will present a free Empower Half Hour workshop on Jan. 28. This will be held at noon in the Clinic Board Room at 2350 Hospital Drive. Zwiefel will challenge participants to eat 30 different plants in a week. She will share how the challenge can benefit gut health by boosting the immune system, reducing inflammation, increasing fiber, and lowering your cancer risk. Puzzle exchange this week at Kendall Young Library

The Kendall Young Library puzzle exchange is going on this week until Saturday. Donations of like new puzzles that are either 500 or 1000 piece puzzles will be accepted at the library. For every puzzle donated, a ticket will be given. Participants can then choose the puzzles they would like to take home with them. For more information, contact the library at 515-832-9100.

Wilson Brewer Park Foundation meeting moved to Sampson Room- Fuller Hall tonight

The monthly meeting of the Wilson Brewer Park & Depot Foundation will be held at the Sampson Room of Fuller Hall starting at 6:30 p.m. tonight. The agenda includes the new appointment of board members, election of officers, and updates on projects. Discussion on creating a county-wide historical organization is also on the agenda. Reports to city, county and grantees are also to be discussed. Volunteers and community members are invited to attend the meetings.
