The Kendall Young Library will be hosting a training session on opioid overdoses and naloxone Tuesday, in conjunction with Community and Family Resources, starting at noon in the downstairs meeting room. The library is located at 1201 Willson Ave. in Webster City.This event is free and does not require registration.
The Webster City Choral Department will host the “Voices in Bloom” concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Prem Sahai Auditorium. This special performance celebrates the growth and development of singers from fifth through 12th grades, highlighting the journey of young musicians as they find and refine their voices. The concert is free and open to the public.
Hosted by the Stratford Booster Club, the Boots and Bling Gala will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday evening at the Backcountry Winery. The Backcountry Winery is located at 3533 Fenton Ave. in Stratford. The Gala, which includes dinner from Whatcha’ Smokin, is raising funds for the Stratford Early Learning Center. Events during the evening include live country music by Rob Thomas from Ames, raffles, and the crowning of a Boots and Bling Gala King and Queen. Tickets are $30 a person, $50 a couple.
The Lehigh Methodist Church’s annual Spring Supper and Bake Sale will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the church, 386 Spencer Hill St., in Lehigh. The meal served will be Swiss steak with mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetables, salads, fresh baked rolls, pie and a drink. The cost is $15 for adults, $8 for ages 10 and under, and free for children ages 5 and under. Many baked goods will be available for purchase also during the event. Carryouts are also available.
The Treble Singers of Webster City High School will participate in the inaugural Rising Treble Voices Festival at Iowa State University on Saturday. The concert begins at 3 p.m. in CY Stephens Auditorium in Ames. The first annual Rising Treble Voices Festival will bring together six central Iowa treble choirs alongside the Iowa State University Orchestra for a collaborative concert. Tickets for the performance are $15, with free admission available for ISU students and youth under 18.
