An open house will be held on May 14 by the Cub Scout Pack 583 and Troop 17. The event, which will showcase what types of things the scouts do, will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at the West Twin Park, 1100 Superior St. Information on joining any of the scouting organizations will be available. Teen events planned at Kendall Young Library

Kendall Young Library will hold a variety of teen events throughout May. Teen Lounge: Patrons in 6-12 grades are invited Tuesdays in May from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Teen Lounge will be held May 12, 19 and 26. As a special event on May 19, current fifth graders are invited to join the teens for an afternoon of Bingo. There are weekly activities such as video games, snacks, crafts, board games, and more.The time and place is perfect to hang out with friends and is a come-and-go style event. Chamber of Commerce retail committee meets today

The retail committee of the Webster City Chamber of Commerce meets today at 9 a.m. at the Chamber offices board room at 624 Second St. in Webster City. The meeting will discuss the results from the Spring Stroll and continue planning for JunqueFest and the summer schedule of Market nights. All businesses are encouraged to join the Chamber of Commerce. All members can help in the discussion of upcoming projects coordinated by the Chamber.

Women’s Club to meet Monday

The next meeting of the Webster City Woman’s Club will be May 11 at 1:30 p.m. at the Jane Young House, located at 629 Elm St. The greeter will be Jan Reinhardt and refreshments will be served by JoAnn Robb, Jana Reints, Jean Biggins and Jean Youngdale The program is a presentation by Loween Getter explaining the “Over the Speed Limit Players” organized by the Webster City Community Theatre. Webster City High School band concert is tonight

The spring band concert for the Webster City High School will be at 7 p.m. tonight in Prem Sahai Auditorium. The high school is located at 1001 Lynx Ave. The door closest to the Prem Sahai Auditorium is on the north side of the building. The high school band will be performing “Fire Dance” by David Shaffer, “Stay” by Randall Standridge, “Amen!” by Frank Ticheli, and “The Star Wars Theme,” in celebration of May Fourth.
