Women’s Club hosts Teddy Bear Tea Saturday at Jane Young House

The Webster City Women’s Club will host a teddy bear tea party from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Jane Young House at 629 Elm St., west of the Kendall Young Library. The event, is for children from 3 to 7 years of age who are accompanied by an adult. The cost is $15 per adult/child pairing, and $5 for each additional child. This will introduce the young children to the atmosphere of a formal event, with both adults and children asked to dress up and to bring their favorite teddy bear or stuffed animal. Cops and Bobbers fishing event is this Saturday

The Hamilton County Law Enforcement officers are sponsoring a Cops and Bobbers fishing event from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday. This will be held at the small beach shelter at Briggs Woods Park, 2490 Briggs Woods Trail. The event is free and residents do not need a fishing license, since it is being held during the Iowa DNR free fishing weekend. As part of the program, they will teach fishing pole maintenance, fish identification, fishing regulations, water safety and other basic fishing instructions. Women’s club meets Monday at Jane Young House

The next meeting of the Webster City Women’s Club will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Jane Young House, 629 Elm St. The greeter will be Marilyn Williams and refreshments will be served by Marilyn Grubbe, Billie Smid, Donna Jansen, and Eloise Stearns The program is “Happy Birthday USA” by Carol Zills. Special County Supervisor meeting today at 10 a.m.

The Hamilton County supervisors have called a special meeting for 10 a.m. Wednesday for a report on the Briggs Woods Conference Center. The meeting will be in the Hamilton County Courthouse meeting room, in the lower meeting room.

Market Nights begin Thursday downtown

The Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce kicks off the 2026 Market Nights season on Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in downtown Webster City. The first Market Night of the season will feature Youth Entrepreneur Night, giving young innovators and future business owners the opportunity to showcase products, services, and creative ideas.
