Webster City bows out at Ballard in softball

HUXLEY — A tough inning led to the Webster City softball team seeing their season come to an end. Ballard plated four runs in the second, claiming a 6-1 decision over the Lynx in Class 4A regional play. Jaylyn Bahrenfuss had two hits for Webster City, as Amanda Lahr and Hayden McCoy each recorded one. Bahrenfuss scored the lone run in the fifth for the Lynx, as Briley VanDeer drove her in. IOWA FALLS — The Webster City softball team was unable to get on track here Wednesday night, falling to Iowa Falls-Alden in North Central Conference action, 8-3. After rallying in the third to tie the game at 2-all, the Lynx were unable to slow the Cadets down, as Iowa Falls-Alden plated two in the fourth, one in the fifth and three more in the sixth.
