McBride set for Bellator debut against Morris on Friday

WEBSTER CITY – Webster City resident and Midwest Cage Championship lightweight champion Michael McBride will make his Bellator debut at Friday’s show in Council Bluffs.

McBride (6-1) will fight fellow 155-pounder Kevin Morris (4-3) on the Bellator 129 preliminary card from the Mid-America Center. The fights will start at 6 p.m. and will be televised live on spike.com.

The main card will kickoff at 8 p.m. on Spike TV. The main event features welterweights Paul Bradley and Josh Neer.

McBride will enter the cage on a two-fight win streak. He won the MCC title just last month by submitting Paul Hunhoff with a Kimura in the first round.

All six of McBride’s wins have come via submission or referee stoppage.

Morris is just 1-3 in his last four bouts. He last fought on Feb. 14 and suffered a TKO loss to Tyler Hellenbrand.
