Bill Riley Talent Search to take place at Hamilton County Fair

In a Monday news release, a Bill Riley Talent Search contest is scheduled for Saturday, July 29, during the 2023 Hamilton County Fair in Webster City. The event will be on the Ed Prince Stage beginning at 4 p.m.

Registration forms are now available online, hamcoexpo.com, or at the Secretary’s Office at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds, 1200 Bluff St., Webster City. Entries are due by July 17, and may be mailed or made in person at the Secretary’s Office on the Hamilton County Fairgrounds.

There is no cost to enter.

Vocalists, dancers and instrumentalists are encouraged to participate. There are no categories for combos, rock bands or similar musical groups. Competition includes a Senior division for ages 13 to 21 and a Sprout division for ages 2 to 12. The winner from each age group qualifies to participate in the annual Iowa State Fair Talent Search in Des Moines.

Bill Riley, Jr. of Des Moines will emcee the local event.

The local chairperson is Tennie Carlson, Hamilton County Fair Board member from Stratford.

This year’s Hamilton County Fair is set for July 25 through July 30. The theme of the Hamilton County Fair this year is “Making the Best in the Midwest!
