The Webster City baseball team picked up a 7-5 victory over Newell-Fonda here last Friday night. Braylon Dyvig drove in three runs with a pair of doubles, Carter Mickelson had two RBI and earned the win on the mound in relief, and Matthew Tesdahl added an RBI at the plate with three runs scored. CLARION — The Webster City softball team picked up a win in their North Central Conference opener here last Friday, blasting Clarion-Goldfield/Dows, 9-0 in five innings. Jaylyn Bahrenfuss and Morgan Hackbarth each recorded two hits and drove in a pair while Jakaela Cherry and Breanna Bahrenfuss both had an RBI. Cherry, who earned the win inside the circle, recorded 12 strikeouts and allowed just one hit with three walks.
