JEWELL — The South Hamilton girls got back on track here Tuesday night, besting Saydel, 50-33.
The Hawks (2-2 overall) held a slim two-point lead after the first before outscoring the Eagles in the second, 17-8, to take command of the game.
South Hamilton held firm through the third, building a 17-point advantage that would remain until the final buzzer.
Isabel Swenson scored 11, Emma Lammers had nine with six steals, Tessa Skartvedt finished with eight and six rebounds, and Rosemary Chamness added six off the bench with three steals.
“I liked our balanced scoring in this game,” South Hamilton head coach Mark Henderson said. “That was something we were missing last Friday. We need to have multiple scoring options on this team.
“We did a good job of getting the ball into our posts against their zone. Tessa and Rosemary especially were able to find some good looks inside and convert.”
Adelyn Trask scored eight points, knocking down two 3-pointers, and also had three steals, three rebounds and two assists, as Allie Neuberger added five assists and two steals.
Prior to a one-point loss to Saydel last January, the Hawks had won 14 in a row in the series.
South Hamilton hosts St. Edmond on Thursday night and travels to Grand View Christian on Friday.
