Algona tops Webster City girls
ALGONA — Webster City’s Evie Davis had a strong night for the Lynx, but it wasn’t enough on Friday against Algona.
The Bulldogs (5-2 overall) prevailed by a 51-26 count on their home court behind three players in double figures.
Davis had a strong effort to pace the Lynx (2-4), scoring 16 points.
“We knew going in that it was going to be a challenge, playing a very good Algona team on the road,” WCHS head coach Marty McKinney said. “I was proud of the effort throughout the game. By having long scoring droughts, though, we are forcing our defense to be perfect every possession, which just isn’t sustainable.”
Kate Limbaugh had 16 points for Algona.
Avery Poppen (4) and Lovie Pruismann (3) followed for the Lynx.
