June D. VanLangen, 83, passed away April 18, 2022 at Bethany Life in Story City. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30 am at Elim Lutheran Church in Randall. Burial will follow in the Homewood Cemetery in Ellsworth, Iowa. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 at Elim Lutheran Church.
June was born on May 26, 1938 in Webster City, Iowa to Harold and Erma (Hilpipre) Stuhmer. She graduated from Webster City High School and married Richard VanLangen on May 26, 1957. He passed away on April 30, 2017.
June was a lifetime resident of the Webster City and Ellsworth area and was a member of Elim Lutheran Church in Randall. She was a member of the Jewell Lions Club and served on the South Hamilton School Board. June worked at Paul’s Super Value, managed Jewell Distributing with Rich and then operated Grandma June’s Resturant for several years. She also directed the children’s choir at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellsworth for 40 years.
June is survived by her children, Douglas (Konni) VanLangen of Ellsworth, Charles VanLangen of Jewell and Darla VanLangen-Delehoy of Dayton, Ohio; six grandchildren, Tana Kolton, Nick (Cheri) VanLangen, Colin Fonken, Emma Walden, Ceara (Cory) McFarland and Shea VanLangen; six great grandchildren, Charlotte (Charlie), Hallie, Kasen, Nadelyn, Brantley and Clayton and her sister, Betty Evans of Fort Dodge.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rich; son, Scott VanLangen; daughter-in-law, Lorna Ehlert) VanLangen and grandsons, Travis James VanLangen and Tjay Scott VanLangen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elim Lutheran Church, Jewell Fire and Rescue or Bethany Life.
