Norman Gordon, 100, Webster City

Norman Gordon, 100, of Webster City, died Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Southfield Wellness Community. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Patrick Wiedemeier officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.

Norman Kirk Gordon, son of Lester and Ellen Gunderson Gordon, was born May 6, 1917 in rural Hamilton County. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1935. He married Irene Harrison on September 21, 1940 in Holstein, and they farmed south west of Webster City until his retirement in 1988.

Norman is survived by his wife, Irene of Webster City; sons, Roger (Shirley) Gordon of Butte, MT and Bruce (Marsha) Gordon of Seattle, WA; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Virgil (Mary Lou) Gordon of Webster City.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Philip Gordon; and brothers, Howard and Kenneth Gordon.

Norman was a member of First Baptist Church in Webster City and Noon Kiwanis. He served on the Highview Co-Op Board of Directors, and delivered Meals on Wheels with Irene for over 30 years. He loved rocks and sold his Brazilian agate rockwork at craft shows for many years. He never left home without a rock in his pocket.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Meals on Wheels in memory of Norman.
