Market Night returns Thursday

Downtown Webster City will come alive on Thursday, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. as Webster City Market Night returns with a community favorite, Classic Car Night. Hosted at the Availa Bank Stage in the Plaza, there will be live entertainment throughout the evening with Lee Klett, performing live music the entire night, thanks to the support of Black Hills Energy, the evening’s entertainment sponsor. City-wide clean up Friday and Saturday

The City of Webster City will be holding the no-fee clean up days for residents of Webster City from noon to 4 p.m. on Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Webster City Middle School parking lot. Items that will be accepted that day only will be: appliances, box fans/ceiling fans, batteries, carpet pieces, computer towers, exercise equipment/bicycles, grills, lawn furniture, household furniture, microwaves, miscellaneous household items and scrap metal items. A public meeting will be held at 10 a.m. today in the Hamilton County Courthouse in response to the filing of a protest to the Iowa State Board of Appeals. The filing represents petitioners who have raised a concern that the tax levy is not necessary for the Van Diest Medical Center to operate. According to the Iowa State Appeal website, the state appeal board consists of the Auditor of State, the Treasurer of State and the Director of the Department of Management. Supervisor meeting today includes Briggs Woods Conference Center

The agenda for the County Supervisors meeting today includes many of the typical topics.
