Corgi Race registration open now

Registration is now open for the 2026 Hamilton County Fair Corgi Races. Registration for participants is due by July 16. The second annual Corgi races will be held Wednesday, July 22, at 6 p.m. This will again be held in the Hamilton County Fair show arena at the fairgrounds. Sponsored by the Hamilton County Farm Bureau, there is no registration fee. Only a parking pass is needed to participate. Iowa State Patrol releases names of victims of Wednesday’s crash on Highway 20

The Iowa State Patrol has released the names of the two drivers who died in the crash on Highway 20 Wednesday. According to the Iowa State accident report, Joseph Kennedy of Alden, who was driving a 2017 Chevy Silverado pickup, age 69 was pronounced dead at the scene. Aaron Scott Gomez of Harlingen, Texas, age 40, was driving a 2020 Ram 1500 pickup. Gomez was taken to the Van Diest Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.
