New scholarship will honor Hilton’s impact on female student-athletes

A new scholarship will honor former teacher and coach Dave Hilton.

The Dave Hilton Character and Commitment Scholarship Fund will honor the legacy of the beloved Webster City coach, teacher and mentor whose dedication to female student-athletes has left a lasting impact on both the athletes he coached and the community.

Designed to support deserving female student-athletes, this scholarship recognizes individuals who exemplify the values of leadership, determination, and community spirit — qualities Hilton instilled in his students and athletes throughout his years of teaching and coaching.

“Dave Hilton’s influence on Webster City and the young people he mentored is immeasurable,” said Darcy Swon, director of the Enhance Hamilton County Foundation.

“Through this fund, we are proud to offer supporters the chance to make tax-deductible contributions to a scholarship that honors Dave’s lasting legacy. His passion for empowering others continues to inspire, and we are excited to provide a platform that helps shape the next generation of leaders.”

The scholarship will be awarded annually, with the first recipient selected in 2026. Applications will be available through Webster City High School.

Donations are now being accepted to support the scholarship fund. To learn more about how you can contribute, visit www.enhancehamiltoncounty.org/dave-hilton.
