Republicans Pruismann, Turpen seek sheriff’s position
Clausen will challenge Kloberdanz
Two veteran lawmen want to succeed Hamilton County Sheriff Doug Timmons in that position.
Alex Pruismann, a deputy in the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, and David Turpen, the chief of the Ellsworth-Jewell-Stanhope Police Department, are running for the office.
Both men are running as Republican candidates, which means they will face each other during the primary on June 4.
Supervisor Jerry Kloberdanz, District 1, a Democrat from Webster City, is running to remain in his position.
His opponent is Mary Clausen, of Webster City, a Republican.
April Ely is running for Supervisor in District 2. She is seeking to fill Supervisor Dan Campidilli’s position. He announced earlier this year that he would retire at the end of 2024.
Kim Schaa, Hamilton County auditor, is also on the ballot.
March 22 was the candidate filing deadline for the primary in county elections.
The general election will be on November 5.
