For the first time in the organization’s history, Legacy Learning Boone River Valley will have a physical location for art classes, workshops and retail pop-ups.
Set for 5 p.m. on Friday, at the Legacy Learning Boone River Valley’s location, situated at 719 Seneca St., Webster City, the organization will invite the public out for a ribbon cutting.
Guests are also invited to visit the Main Street Kickstart Grand Reveals for Sandi’s Attic, located at 606 Second St., Webster City, and Lotus Treasurers, located at 707 Second St., Webster City, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Within the tour, visitors will be able to have a unique experience to partake in, along with some grab-and-go snacks.
LLBRV recently completed the project to update the three establishments, with the help of Iowa State University students.
The Main Street Kickstart program is a collaborative venture between ISU and the ISU Extension and Outreach’s Hamilton County office.
According to the organization’s website, Legacy Learning Boone River Valley “provides a service to an audience within a four-hour radius of Webster City by offering scheduled opportunities to participate in hands-on activities in classes taught in a relaxed setting. It also supports “the concept of regional economic development focused on natural resources.”
LLBRV offers an array of affordable instruction from experienced staff of visiting craftsmen, artists and tradesmen mixed with a relaxing, retreat style setting.
The workshops are partially made available by grant funding from the Iowa Arts Council, Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs, Webster City’s hotel/motel tax grant and Arts Midwest.
