Parkinson’s Disease is focus of virtual workshop

Van Diest Medical Center is partnering with 21st Century Rehab to offer a Therapy & Parkinson’s Workshop. The public is invited to join this free virtual event to be held via Facebook LIVE on Tuesday, April 20 from 5 to 6 p.m.

Presenters will include Occupational Therapist Diana Raska, Physical Therapist Laurie Andrews and Speech Therapist Kelci Fett who will be speaking about how Rehabilitative Therapy can improve daily living activities, balance, walking, and communication skills for those suffering from Parkinson’s disease.

There will also be limited in-person seating available for those wishing to attend the workshop, which will be held in the Cafeteria Conference Room at the hospital. Community members of all ages are invited to join the free presentation virtually by liking the Van Diest Medical Center Facebook page. Those interested in attending in person may register by calling the Van Diest Medical Center Physical Therapy Department at 832-7735.
