Officials with the city of Webster City announced Tuesday morning that there will no disconnection of water or electric services for non-payment until further notice.

Effective immediately, the utility office will not mail out late notices or deliver disconnect slips to area customers. Additionally, the 1.5 percent penalty assessed for late payment will be waived until further notice. These measures are being put in place to assist those who may be experiencing financial hardship due to COVID-19 virus.

Officials stressed that the bill amounts are not being forgiven. Customers can call the utility office, 832-9141, if they are facing hardship to set up a payment plan.
