Katelyn Sogard crowned Hamilton Co. Fair Queen
7 candidates take part in coronation ceremony

A Stanhope teen was crowned as the 2019 Hamilton County Fair Queen Thursday night during a coronation ceremony held in the grandstand.
Katelyn Sue Sogard, 18, is the daughter of Doug and Suzanne Sogard of Stanhope. She’s a 2019 graduate of South Hamilton High School and plans to attend Grand View University in Des Moines to pursue a Bachelor of Science in nursing.
McKenna Mitchell, 2018 Fair Queen, placed the tiara on the new queen’s head after her name was announced.
Adalie Schwandt of Williams, the 16-year-old daughter of Keith and Lisa Schwandt, was named first runner-up. Schwandt was also named Miss Leadership. Ella Carlson was the second runner-up. She’s the daughter of Doug and Sheila Carlson of Stratford.

Anna Utera-Greenfield, 18 of Kamrar, was named Miss Congeniality. She’s the daughter of Sara Utera.

Other members of the court include: Emma Bailey, the 18-year-old daughter of Kent and Milissa Bailey of Webster City; Madelin Egeland, 18, the daughter of Dale and Kari Egeland of Boone; and Ursula Leksell, Webster City, the 18-year-old daughter of Ron Corbin and Heidi Leksell.
The Hamilton County Fair Board also presented Marty Parkhill with the Friend of the Fair award and Glenda Meyer won the 4-H Hall of Fame award,
Fair Queen Committee members are Kim Schaa, Carla Johnson, Kathleen Hay and Nikki Ehn.
