Fireworks displays planned

Fireworks displays will light up the night skies next week as Hamilton County celebrates the Fourth of July.

On Wednesday, July 3, Van Diest Supply Company will be again sponsoring the annual fireworks display beginning at approximately 10 p.m. at the Webster City High School.

There is no charge for the event and the public is asked to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets to sit on the interior of the High School Track. Officials said all of the softball and baseball diamonds at the high school we be blocked off and persons will not be allowed to enter this area.

In addition to the fireworks, the Webster City High School Band will be playing patriotic music from 9 to 10 p.m. On July 4, the fireworks at about 9:45 p.m. will cap off a full day of celebration in Williams. The fireworks display is sponsored by the Williams Lions Club.

Friday, July 5 will bring the annual Little Wall Lake celebration at the park south of Jewell.

The activities begin at 4 p.m. when Sweet Treats Homemade Ice Cream will be set up in the beach parking lot. At dusk, the annual lighted boat parade will be held, followed by fireworks.
