Grants to be given

EHCF awards to be made on March 14

The Enhance Hamilton County Foundation has announced their upcoming Grant Awards Night scheduled for March 14, at the Stratford Community Center, 7 p.m. Thirteen organizations located throughout Hamilton County will receive a total of over $40,000. All Hamilton County residents are invited to attend.

The Enhance Hamilton County Foundation is an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines and is one of 84 counties in Iowa without a gambling facility within their borders. Under state law, one percent of gambling proceeds from Prairie Meadows, river boats and other state regulated gambling facilities, is divided equally between the 84 counties without gambling facilities. It is these funds that the Enhance Hamilton County Foundation grants out to local organizations to improve the quality of life throughout Hamilton County. The organization has granted over $1 million in Hamilton County since its inception in 2005.

In addition to grant making, the Enhance Hamilton County Foundation assists donors with making a positive, local impact by offering a variety of giving tools to help them achieve their charitable goals and to create a positive impact in Hamilton County that will last forever. In addition, the Foundation works closely with community nonprofit organizations to identify their needs and to serve as a liaison between them and charitable donors.

The Enhance Hamilton County Foundation serves the communities of Blairsburg, Ellsworth, Jewell, Kamrar, Randall, Stanhope, Stratford, Webster City and Williams.
