Lawmakers to hold town hall meeting in WC

Bacon, Behn to meet with constituents at City Hall

State Rep. Rob Bacon, House District 48 and State Sen. Jerry Behn, District 24 will be in Webster City, Saturday, March 18 from 10 to 11 am at City Hall for a Town Hall Meeting. The meeting is open to the public and hosted by the Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce.

Behn, Senate President Pro Tempore, District 24, sits on the following committees: Ethics (Chair), Ways and Means (Vice Chair), Education, Natural Resources, Rules and Administration, Legislative Council. Growing Iowa’s economy has been an important part of Senator Behn’s work in the Senate. He continues to focus on initiatives to help create jobs and attract more businesses to the state.

Behn graduated from United Community High School, and has been farming for 36 years. He is a member of Farm Bureau, Iowa Soybean Association, and the Iowa Association of Business and Industry.

Bacon sits on the following state committees: Natural Resources (Chair), Human Resources, State Government, Transportation, Ag & DNR Budget. He has been an Iowan since 1975 when he moved here to attend college. While studying to become a minister, he worked at a funeral home in Oskaloosa. Shortly after, he decided to make funeral directing his profession and has been licensed since 1981. He has worked in funeral homes since 1977, and has served as manager, partner, and owner of Bacon Funeral Homes.

Bacon is a member of the Nevada Rotary Club, Iowa Funeral Directors Association, and the United Methodist Church. He was recognized as Legislator of the Year in 2012 by the Physician Assistant Association.

Bacon was previously elected to the State Senate but in 2010 decided to run for the House.
