‘Over the Speed Limit Players’ postpones audition dates

Auditions for “Fiddler on the Roof”, have been postponed to Jan. 25 and Jan. 27. The auditions will be at 6 p.m. at the Webster City Community Theatre Performing Arts Center, located at 1001 Willson Ave. The “Over the Speed Limit Players” is a new theatre group being organized as a branch of the Webster City Community Theatre for those over the age of 55.

Hamilton County Fair announces fundraiser

The Hamilton County Fair Expo will be holding its annual fundraising dinner on Jan. 31. This will be held in the Hamilton County Show Arena. The price for tickets are $200 for a table of six or $40 a ticket. Drinks included. Doors open at 5 p.m. Call the fair office 515-832-1443.

Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce hosts retail kick-off event Tuesday

The Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce will host a kick-off breakfast for retailers next Tuesday. The breakfast will be at Fuller Hall in the Samson Room starting at 9 a.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with fellow retailers, meet the local Small Business Development regional director, Kirsten Case Fuller, and enjoy breakfast while learning about funding opportunities and business support programs available. First Impressions committee will meet Thursday

A final report of the statewide evaluation of the Webster City community will be shared with members of the First Impressions committee, a committee organized by the Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce. The report will include strengths and weaknesses visitors found during the summer months when they came to Webster City. Their impressions and experiences should highlight areas which the community can then address. Next steps and an action plan will be the focus of the group on Thursday. They will be meeting at noon at the Hamilton County Conservation office.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Training to be held Saturday

Volunteers who are willing to assist other taxpayers with their annual income taxes can be trained this Saturday at the Hamilton County Extension office. The Extension office is located at 311 Bank St. in Webster City. This training prepares individuals with the skills needed to serve as a volunteer for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. Barb Wollan will lead the training.
