Kendall Young Library offers Fiber Arts Gathering on fourth Thursdays

The Kendall Young Library is starting a new craft group to meet at the library monthly. This will be a Fiber Arts hangout at the library. The library is located at 1201 Willson Ave. The project time is from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Whether you are a knitter, crochet, embroider, hand-stitch or enjoy other fiber crafts, this is a low key hangout on the fourth Thursday of each month. The Kendall Young Library is hosting a speed competition for putting together adult jigsaw puzzles on Saturday. The library is located at 1201 Willson Ave. The event begins at 10:30 a.m., and should be completed by 1:30 p.m. Teams of four can register by calling the library at 515-832-9100. Teams are made up of four adults or teens over the age of 14. Registration is important as the space is limited. All teams will be able to keep their puzzle and the winning team will get a prize. Legacy Learning Sip & Paint is this Thursday

The winter sip and paint will be this Thursday from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m. at the Legacy Learning-Boone River Valley located at 719 Seneca St, in Webster City. This sip and paint will create a winter scene, perfect for beginners and seasoned painters alike. Bring your favorite drink, and capture the beauty of winter on a project. Registered Dietitian Kristi Zwiefel of Van Diest Medical Center will present a free Empower Half Hour workshop on Jan. 28. This will be held at noon in the Clinic Board Room at 2350 Hospital Drive. Zwiefel will challenge participants to eat 30 different plants in a week. She will share how the challenge can benefit gut health by boosting the immune system, reducing inflammation, increasing fiber, and lowering your cancer risk. Tickets on sale for 'The Prince of Egypt' at Iowa Central

Iowa Central Community College’s Center for Performing Arts announces that tickets for the stage musical “The Prince of Egypt” are on sale now. The musical will be performed at Decker Auditorium located at 1 Triton Circle in Fort Dodge. Performances are Feb. 25 through March 1.
