Students honored named to President’s List

The Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) has named two Hamilton County students to the Fall 2025 President’s List. The fall terms run from September to December. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above for the reporting term are named to the President’s List. Boots & Bling Gala scheduled for May 2

The Boots & Bling Gala that was mentioned in Wednesdays Daily Freeman Journal will be held on Saturday, May 2. The event, which is being coordinated by the Stratford Booster Club, will be held at the Backcountry Winery in Stratford. The Gala is a fundraiser which will help support the Stratford Early Learning Center

Journaling workshop set for Jan. 15

Legacy Learning-Boone River Valley is offering a journaling workshop on Jan. 15. The workshop will be held at the Legacy Learning studio, located at 719 Seneca St. in Webster City. It will start at 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. Journaling is a recommended approach to mental health restoration. This self-care workshop will explore six simple strategies to help you create a routing that truly fits your life. This workshop has a $20 participation fee.

Community Blood Drive today at Van Diest Medical Center

The Webster City Community Blood Drive is today from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The blood drive will be held in the Clinic Board Room, located at 2350 Hospital Drive. Those who donate blood today will receive a Scooters cookie and a coupon for 20% off a hospital gift shop purchase.

Bill Beemer to celebrate 90th birthday

Bill Beemer, a long-time resident of Webster City, will celebrate his 90th birthday on Jan. 16 with a card shower. Bill was born in 1936 in Buffalo Center and was raised in Lakota. He worked for 50 years as a water well driller and proprietor of Bill Beemer Well Company. Bill’s ...
