Hamilton County cattlemen dinner March 9

The Hamilton County Cattlemen Association will be hosting the 2026 annual banquet on March 9. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. for the social, 6 p.m. for dinner, with an auction to follow. This will be held at the Hamilton County fairgrounds in the show arena located at 1800 Bluff St. in Webster City. To obtain tickets, RSVP to Darrel Hay, at 835-1602, Jenn Hay at 515-297-3258, Joey Koop at 515-835-0080 or to any Hamilton County Cattlemen board member. The cost of dinner is $30 per person.

Chicken soup contest at The Cat Hut

The Cat Hut staff and board members of the Hamilton County Advocates will compete to see who makes the best chicken noodle soup from 1 to 4 p.m. on March 13. This will held at the The Cat Hut, located at 1118 Second Street in Webster City. Samples of each of the soups will be available to taste and votes will be made in the form of donations. All donations will then be given to The Cat Hut to help fund their Trap/Neuter/Release program. For more information, contact The Cat Hut at 515-524-6100.

WC Rocketry trivia night deadline March 12

The Webster City Rocketry Trivia Night will be held on March 20. This will be held at the Webster City High School north lobby. Doors open at 6 p.m., trivia begins at 7 p.m. This is the seventh year for this event, which raises money to help cover program costs such as rocket-building materials, and other team supplies. The entry fee is $100 for a team up to 10 people or $25 for a team of two. To register, email wc_rocketry@wcschools.org.

Donkey Ball to take over Jefferson Gym tonight

Tickets are on sale now for the Donkey Ball basketball game sponsored by the Webster City FFA chapter. This game will feature the Webster City FFA Alumni and other groups. Dairyland Donkey Ball, LLC from Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, will be helping raise money for the Webster City FFA program. The game begins at 7 p.m., and tickets are $10 in advance, which ends at 6 p.m. today. The tickets are $15 at the door. Preschool admission is free for children 5 years old and younger.

Kendall Young Book Clubs meet

Adult Daytime Book Club — The March Book Club discussion is on The Names by Florence Knapp. This book is available at the Adult Checkout if interested in participating. This meets on Tuesday, March 10, 1:30-2:30 p.m. for discussion. A book for the April Book Club will be announced at this time.
