Pony Express toll road in Webster City Saturday

The Pony Express toll road will be set up from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday on east and west Second Street in Webster City. The Pony Express Riders of Iowa is a network of volunteer “riders” who host fundraisers in their home county throughout the year. The money they raise benefits Camp Sunnyside in Des Moines, which is a program to help children and adults with disabilities. Hamilton County residents are encouraged to keep some cash in their pockets and give generously during the toll road Saturday.

Webster City community blood drive is today

The next community blood drive will be held from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. today at the Van Diest Medical Center Clinic board room, 2350 Hospital Drive. Appointments are encouraged by calling 800-287-4903. Walk-ins are welcome. Donate blood and receive a Scooters cookie plus a 20% off coupon in the hospital gift shop.

Legion to serve spaghetti dinner to help fund Scouts summer camp

The American Legion, 726 Second St., will serve lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday Saturday to help raise money to send the local Scouts to camp. The meal will consist of spaghetti, garlic bread and homemade desserts for a freewill donation. Iowa Community Theatre Association convention to be held in Webster City March 27

The Webster City Community Theatre will be host to the Iowa Community Theatre Association on March 27 and 28. The opening of “Fiddler on the Roof,” produced by the Over the Speed Limit players will be on March 27 and is open to the public. Workshops will be held on March 28, and a final banquet will be held that evening, which includes awards presented to community theaters across the state for excellence.
