Lenten Luncheon is this Friday

Women’s Lenten Luncheon, hosted by the Women’s Fellowship groups from First Congregational UCC, Asbury United Methodist, Trinity Lutheran, St. Paul’s Lutheran and the Church of Christ, will be held on Friday at the Briggs Woods Conference Center from noon to 1 p.m. The program this year will be presented by the Rev. Sarah Namukose from Asbury United Methodist Church.

​Women’s Club opens new exhibit this Saturday

The Webster City Women’s Club will be opening their 2026 exhibits at the Jane Young House this Saturday at 10 a.m. The Jane Young House is located at 629 Elm St., where the new vintage clothing exhibits are assembled. The Jane Young House exhibits are open to the public each month on the fourth Saturday. The house is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on those Saturdays. Pony Express toll road in Webster City Saturday

The Pony Express toll road will be set up from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday on east and west Second Street in Webster City. The Pony Express Riders of Iowa is a network of volunteer “riders” who host fundraisers in their home county throughout the year. The money they raise benefits Camp Sunnyside in Des Moines, which is a program to help children and adults with disabilities. Hamilton County residents are encouraged to keep some cash in their pockets and give generously during the toll road Saturday.

Correction: Scout spaghetti dinner is Sunday at Legion

Scout Troop 17, which is sponsored by the American Legion, will be serving lunch on Sunday from the Legion building located at 726 Second St. This event is not sponsored by the Legion, but some members may be helping the scout troop. Members of the scouting troop will serve lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday to help raise money to send the local Scouts to camp. The meal will consist of spaghetti, garlic bread and homemade desserts for a freewill donation.
