Webster City dentist earns mastership from dental academy

The Academy of General Dentistry — AGD — announces that Cody Olson, DDS, MAGD, of Humboldt, recently received the prestigious Mastership Award. This commencement celebration recognizes the commitment to excellence in dental education of AGD members. During the event at the AGD’s scientific session this summer, Dr. Olson accepted this award along with 75 other general dentists who earned this recognition. FORT DODGE — The Fort Dodge Choral Society starts rehearsals Monday, August 18 The Fort Dodge Choral Society will rehearsal at the Grace Lutheran Church, 211 S. 9th Street, Fort Dodge. Rehearsal time is at 7 p.m. Jacob Pedersen is the new artistic director for the Choral Society. Kendall Young Library will host Butter Cow Sculpting event

Kendall Young Library, 1201 Willson Avenue, Webster City, will host an Adult DIY Butter Cow Sculpting event on Tuesday, August 12. This event is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Try your hand at this Iowa State Fair tradition (in miniature form). This event is free and does not require registration. You do not need to bring your own butter.

Lehigh Methodist Second Sunday Supper is on August 10

LEHIGH — The Lehigh Methodist Church will hold its Second Sunday Supper on Sunday evening, August 10, in the church basement. This meal is from 5 to 7 p.m. On the menu this month are loose meat sandwiches, with potato chips, fresh garden vegetables, desserts and drinks. The cost is a freewill donation. First Congregational UCC is bringing back those brownie sundaes

Again, this year, members of the First Congregational United Church of Christ will serve brownie sundaes to hungry drivers — and their passengers — at the church at 1000 Willson Avenue, Webster City. On Friday, July 25, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., the church members will serve delicious vanilla ice cream atop a yummy homemade brownie with your choice of chocolate or caramel topping.
