Iowa Works resume workshop set for Monday at Kendall Young Library

Kendall Young Library will be hosting a Resume Workshop, presented by Iowa Works, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday at the library. Anyone looking for tools, tips or critique of a resume is invited to participate. All are invited to bring an existing resume that needs updated, or bring information to start a resume from the beginning. All ages are invited.

Eight-Ball Pool Tournament results announced by Fuller Hall

On Monday, the Fuller Hall staff organized an eight-ball pool tournament for students over the holiday break. Mark Glascock was in charge of the tournament. The results are as follows: For the boys who are in third and fourth grade, Caleb Montazuma came in first place, Cole Picket earned second place and Drew Pickett was in third place. The Fuller Hall Holiday fun week free throw contest was held on Dec. 23. There were 11 youth who participated with the contest, which was coordinated by Mark Glascock, recreation technician for Fuller Hall. Legacy Learning- Boone River Valley hosts “Coffee & Create” today

“Coffee and Create” will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon today at the Legacy Learning-Boone River Valley, located at 719 Seneca St. This event provides fresh coffee and a table of art supplies for open-ended creativity. While Coffee & Create is open to all ages, it is preferred for adults and teens. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. There is no charge, but a free-will donation is appreciated.

Kendall Young Library to be closed, will host two final activities

Kendall Young Library will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday. Two final events are being held before students return to school in January. On Saturday, the drop-in activity will be beads and bracelets. Kids and families are invited to get creative each Saturday in the Children’s Department. This come-and-go activity is available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Monday, third- through fifth-grade students are invited to stop in between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to make a pizza in a mug with Miss Doreen.
