Free English and Spanish classes resume Feb. 16 at ACE

The All Cultures Equal —ACE Center located at 637 Second St. will be starting the spring session for free English and Spanish classes. The classes start at 6:30 p.m. and last until 8 p.m. Beginners will meet on Tuesday evenings. Advanced beginners will meet on Monday evenings. Classes continue for 12 weeks, with the last day scheduled for May 5. All materials for class are provided, but bring paper for taking notes. These free classes are sponsored by a grant sponsored by People’s Credit Union.

Parent -Teacher Conferences March 3-5

The Webster City Community Schools will have their Parent-Teacher Conferences from March 3 through 5. The conferences will be held from 2 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. at all the school locations. Be sure to register at each school that children attend. Parents are asked to register online at www.myconferencetime.com with their child’s homeroom teacher.

Legislative Forum registrations needed

Mobile Food Pantry to be at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish Hall Tuesday

The Food Bank of Iowa will have its mobile food pantry at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church next Tuesday. The pantry will be set up at 1000 Des Moines St. in the St. Thomas Parish Hall. The Parish Center will be open at 2:30 p.m. for registration, and the pantry will be open from 2:45 until 5:30 p.m. or until the food is gone. Briggs Woods sponsors rain barrel workshop

The Hamilton County Conservation board is sponsoring a workshop to build rain barrels on Feb. 28. This is located at 2490 Briggs Woods Trail. Registration can be done online through www.mycountyparks.com . The registration deadline is Feb. 26 at 8 am. All participants must be 18 years old. There is a registration fee of $45 per rain barrel. Participation is limited to 20. Questions can be directed to 515-297-0423.
