Congregate Meals for week of March 16

Congregate meals are served Mondays through Thursdays each week. To attend or pick up meals please call 515-832-6161. The meals are prepared in-house located at 604 Prospect St., or the north entrance of the RSVP building at 749 2nd St. in Webster City. This program is funded in part by donations, a nominal charge per meal and the Elderbridge Agency on Aging. Donations are always welcome and encouraged. Webster City High School rocketry trivia night deadline is today

The Webster City Rocketry Trivia Night will be held on March 20 at the Webster City High School north lobby. Doors open at 6 p.m. Trivia begins at 7 p.m. This is the seventh year for this event, which raises money to help cover program costs, such as rocket-building materials and other team supplies. The entry fee is $100 for a team of up to 10 people or $25 for a team of two. To register, email wc_rocketry@wcschools.org by today.

Chicken Soup contest is Friday at The Cat Hut

The Cat Hut staff and board members of the Hamilton County Advocates will compete to see who makes the best chicken noodle soup from 1 to 4 p.m. on Friday. This will be held at the The Cat Hut, 1118 Second St. in Webster City. Samples of each of the soups will be available to taste, and votes will be made in the form of donations for designating the favorite soup; all donations will then be given to The Cat Hut to help fund their trap/neuter/release program. Legislative Forum rescheduled for April 3

The legislative forum sponsored by the Hamilton County Growth Partnership has been reschedule from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 3. This will be held at the Briggs Woods Conference Center, located at 2300 Briggs Woods Trail in Webster City. State Rep. 44, R-Sheffield, and state Sen. Dennis Guth, R-Klemme, should be on site for an update on the legislative session and to hear from constituents about issues which concern them. Those registered for prior sessions which were canceled due to weather, will be automatically registered for this event.

Celebration of life and fundraiser for Rhonda Vaughn Farwell March 28

A fundraising event, celebrating the life of Rhonda (Vaughn) Farwell, will be held on March 28 from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City. The church is located at 1229 Kathy Lane. Farwell has been battling cancer for two years, and has been advised she has only a few short months to live. This event will include a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle, permanent jewelry sales and food and refreshments. Funds raised will assist the family. Farwell will be there to share stories and laughter.
