The Webster City baseball squad continues to build momentum with the postseason right around the corner. The Lynx scored a pair of victories on the road to end last week, outlasting Forest City by a final of 14-11 before routing Osage the next night, 13-1. Head coach Adison Kehoe’s team has now won six of its last seven games to inch closer to the .500 mark on the year at 12-15. The Indians were 16-4 before facing the Lynx; the Green Devils were 13-10. CLEAR LAKE — The Webster City baseball team split a North Central Conference doubleheader here Monday night with Clear Lake. After falling in the opener, 4-2, the Lynx bounced back with a 12-2 win in five innings. Aiden Hrnicek drove in three runs while both Matthew Tesdahl and Brady Asklund played two runs each for Webster City in the victory. CLEAR LAKE — A pair of tough innings kept the Webster City softball team from challenging North Central Conference co-leader Clear Lake here Monday night. The Lions scored four in the first and added five in the sixth to pick up a 10-2 victory. Jakaela Cherry had two hits. Morgan Hackbarth and Hailey Brim both drove in runs. With the loss, the Lynx saw their two-game win streak come to an end. Next action for Webster City will be against seventh-ranked (Class 1A) St. Edmond on Wednesday at home.
