The Webster City girls tennis team opened play here last Friday with a triangular against Ballard and Dike-New Hartford. After besting Ballard, 6-3, the Lynx fell to perennial state contender Dike-New Hartford, 7-2. Sylvia Otteros went 2-0 on the day, earning a pair of wins at the No. 6 singles spot.
